Update: I just wanted to add a quick update for those of you who asked for more details about these classes. I’ve heard from several readers that they’re a lot of fun! About 30 kids were in the previous group, but they get broken into table groups, and everyone gets to make and try the snacks. Each class has a different theme. The last one was on cruciferous veggies, and my pal’s 10 year old son not only had a great time but thought the snacks were tasty! Now that’s impressive! If you’d like to go, there is another one, tomorrow, Tuesday the 23rd. You can also read on for the original post!
I’ve gotten several questions lately from readers looking for area kids’ cooking classes, so I was pretty darn excited when Amanda got in touch with me about this year’s great kids’ classes at PLU.
Each session will run about an hour, and kids 8-12 will learn culinary skills like kitchen safety and cooking from recipes. Each fun class will be taught by members of PLU’s dining and culinary services team. Cool, huh?
There is no registration process-just show up! Best of all? They’re all my favorite price: Free!
Amanda tells me that parents aren’t expected to participate in the class, but you should plan on staying on site as each session will be an hour or less-a perfect chance to do a little bookstore shopping while your kids are getting their Top Chef on!
