If there’s one thing I’ve been neglecting lately, (well, one other thing in addition to laundry and cooking….) it’s my friends.
So, the chance to get together with some over coffee was too good to pass up! Now, I can’t imagine starting my day without a cup of coffee (or two, or three…) but it’s also fun to get together over some anytime of day. I decided on a little evening event, because it meant I had an excuse to buy dessert! Rather than making myself crazy, I just swung into the Safeway bakery. If you haven’t been by yours lately, they’ve got some seriously gourmet style treats these days, at very reasonable prices.
Check out the artsy pic of our Gevalia and goodies! Looks fun, right?
The coffee? It’s really good! To be totally honest, I thought Gevalia was just a name they picked to sound fancy, but it turns out the company began in Sweden (in 1853!), and the reason you never get a bitter taste is the traditional, cast-iron roasting process.
It’s still made with carefully selected beans and ground extra fine for a really smooth, yummy taste. If that’s a little technical for you, I’m glad to report we taste tested it with our treats, and I can confirm that it’s a great fit!
We had a great time talking about husbands, kids, school, surviving all summer without the kids in school-all the good stuff! Best of all, since I’d just spent a few minutes at Safeway shopping for all the eats, it was pretty much stress free! Seriously, if you haven’t tried coffee and dessert for a get together, give it a go!
Gevalia comes in all kinds of varieties and blends, most all of which you can find at Safeway (where I also got everything for this get together). If it’s been too long since you’ve had some friend time, why not make a Gevalia coffee date today? For more scoop, you can check out Gevalia on Facebook!
