Update: Friends, this Groupon is no longer available, and Great Wolf Lodge just had a 48hr sale, so I’m afraid you’ll have to wait a bit to score a deal.
What to do?
1. Consider liking Sounds Fun Mom on Facebook, subscribing to my emails, or following me on Twitter. I write about events, activities, and outings for South Sound families every day! If GWL shows up on Groupon, or another deal site, I’ll make sure you know about it!
2. Subscribe to Great Wolf Lodge emails (They call it their epack). You’ll get advance notice of their sale events, and you might get some special offers.
3. My guess is your kids will be pretty happy if you find a hotel with a decently sized pool. Check out LivingSocial Escapes or try Groupon Getaways (just pay attention to black out dates), or if you’re brave, try Priceline or Hotwire. Astoria, Portland, and Seaside are only a little further than Great Wolf, and they all have family friendly activities and lodging. Seabrook and Long Beach are other options.
4.You can always hit the pool at the Federal Way Community Center for water park style fun at an eensy, beensy fraction of the price. Later this year, other great local options for water fun will include the Henry Moses Aquatic Center in Renton, Wild Waves in Federal Way, and the new wave pool at Kandle Park in Tacoma (a true bargain)!
I do have some links in the original post below for those of you looking to save on a Great Wolf Lodge stay once you get there. Scroll down for those!
Need a getaway? Great Wolf Lodge is back on Groupon!
Now, I want to say upfront that this is NOT the cheapest price you’ll find for Great Wolf. If you wait until one of their half yearly sales, you can get a cheaper room when you book their regular, family suite. Members of the military and first responders can also use code HEROES to save year ’round. This deal also has specific travel dates and is only good on weeknights. Having said all that, this deal is a pretty great one if you have a larger family, a group of pals, or you’ve just wanted to try a fancier room. What’s the scoop? Here’s your complete list of options: One-night stay, valid for check-in Sunday–Thursday from 4/22/13 to 5/30/13 Option 1: $259 for up to eight in a Majestic or Grand Bear Suite (up to a $430 value) Option 2: $239 for up to seven in a KidCabin suite with a $50 dining credit (up to a $380 value) Option 3: $219 for up to six in a Wolf Den or KidKamp suite with a stuffed toy (up to a $355 value) Two-night stay, valid for check-in Sunday–Wednesday from 6/2/13 to 6/13/13 Option 4: $359 for up to six in a Family Suite with a $50 dining credit (up to a $550 value)
Now, I get that this isn’t chump change, but they are very good offers if you have a group of splish-splashers, and you get to use the water park for two days! If you’ve never done Great Wolf before, you’ll want to read this post with tips and links. If it’s out of the budget even with the sale prices (I Totally get that), you can always hit the pool at the Federal Way Community Center for water park style fun at an eensy, beensy fraction of the price.
Want to check it out? Just head here to Groupon! Do make sure to choose the option you want, and as always, read the fine print to make sure any deal works for you!
