I’ve been telling you for a while now how you can go to all kinds of awesome area museums for free with passes from your library.
Turns out there is one more terrific museum participating through Timberland Regional Library.
Are you ready? Wait for it……
You can go to the Totally Awesome and Uber Kid Friendly Hands-on Children’s Museum in Olympia for Free with a pass from your branch of the Timberland Regional Library system. Don’t have a TRL card? You can probably get one for free when you show the card from your library system. Woot and double woot!
Now, I have to tell you this information is nowhere on the HOCM site or the library site (at least that I could find in the last 2+ years), so if you want to keep it secret, I won’t hold it against you. It’s called the Mobile Membership Program, and I’m super appreciative of Genevieve from HOCM who stopped by the site to let me know about it.
Now, there are a couple of big warnings I want you to know before you get too excited.
There is only One pass per library, except for Lacey, Tumwater, and Olympia where they have Two, and they do Not loan them between libraries.
It’s not unusual to have to wait for Months to get it. I put that in bold because communications director, Jeff, is concerned that this post will create a bunch of disappointed folks. So, there’s your warning. Don’t waltz right in and expect to get one.
You’ll need to go in to get on the list in person, and you’ll need to pick it up in person.
When you check it out, you can use it for either the first or the second half of the month.
Don’t want to wait? Like to go whenever you want? You may just want to invest in a membership. It’s a great way to use money from the grandparents, and they typically pay for themselves quickly. You can also go for free every first Friday of the month, or keep your eye on the various deal sites. Groupon has a great offer for family admission right now!
