Kids Can Ice Skate Free at Sprinker

November 27, 2012 by Maegen Blue

If slip sliding around sounds like fun to your guys, you’ll want to have them enter the annual coloring contest at Sprinker. Coloring pictures of mascots Blade and Icey can be picked up at the rink, and when kiddos turn them in they’ll receive a pass for free admission. Kids should be 3-12, and the offer is one per person.

For skating times, you can call 253-798-4040.

You can also check out the whole (Warning Big File) Pierce County Parks and Rec Catalog online. Skating info. starts on page 30 and continues. Pierce County has changed their whole website, and honestly, it’s now way more challenging than it should be to find parks and rec. info. Grrrr.

Other ice skating is at the Polar Plaza in downtown Tacoma. Watch their Facebook page for discounts and info on fun stuff, like camel rides. There is no ice skating or faux ice skating at Pioneer Park in Puyallup this year, but there is also a rink in Kent at Valley Ice,and Castle Ice in Renton.

No matter where you go, it’s one of those things that’s tricker than it looks! You might want to consider helmets and investing in a few lessons. Or just take a few careful spins and you’ll have an excuse for a cocoa break!
