Discovery Village Expands Their Menu of Food and Fun!

October 4, 2012 by Maegen Blue

Here at Sounds Fun Mom, we’re huge fans of Discovery Village, Gig Harbor’s children’s museum and learning center.

Today, I’m excited to tell you about the new programming for the whole family that the Discovery Village team is adding to their already impressive slate of innovative kids’ classes and events.

Additions to the calendar include family happenings like a bingo night and just-for-mom Bunco evenings. Thursday-Saturday, you can also enjoy wine or beer with the expanded menu in their cafe (seasonal soups, fresh salads, tapas)!  Of course, this is mom-run, Discovery Village, so the atmosphere is still family friendly. A kid favorite serving something besides corn dogs and goldfish? ‘Um, yes, please!

Discovery Village also still has plenty of open play times, kids’ club classes, their own preschool, and a new consignment corner for all you bargain hunters. With so much going on there, it’s no wonder I frequently hear from readers that they gladly cross the bridge for a day at Discovery Village.

You can check out their complete calendar of events here, or keep up with their latest happenings on their Facebook page. If you’d like to be part of their first Bunco night, it’s on the 12th. They’ll have goody bags from Julep, and childcare is available.  They’re also taking reservations now for their next Date Night, and these always fill fast. For more info. or to hold a spot in either of these, you can call (253) 858-4835 or email info@discovery-village.com. If you’d like to get a grown-up beverage and try out the new cafe menu, head there during open play after 4, Thursday-Saturday ( I can vouch for the baked goodies personally).

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post, but the opinions are my own. Tell ’em you saw this on Sounds Fun Mom, won’t you? Thanks, you!
