Today, I’m very pleased to tell you about the 2nd annual Lise and Faith Memorial Run coming up on Saturday, August 18th.
It’s a fun, community event honoring the life and spirit of Lise Palmer.
Lise was a young mother of two, expecting a baby daughter she and her husband were planning to name Faith. She was out for a jog while on a family vacation to Chelan, when she was struck and killed by a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel.
Last year, her family and friends put together a benefit run to help her family and remember her love of life and fitness. This year, the run will benefit Audra Brown, a young mom of three who is battling cancer. Audra was a former teammate of Lise’s and one of many volunteers at last year’s race. This year, the proceeds will help her with the overwhelming expenses associated with her treatment. You can read more of Audra’s story here.
The run itself is a great one for the whole family. It’s at the Nathan Chapman trail on South Hill, which is a truly beautiful spot to run-lots of shady spots and mostly flat. If you love to be active as a family, or you’re just looking to kick start a new routine, I can’t think of a better way to do it!
There is also a Free kids’ run for kids’ 13 and under. My inside source tells me there will be cute ‘ola ribbons and medals, too! You can get more scoop at the run’s Facebook page, or you can go here for details and registration.
