Trying to keep the kids occupied? May the force be with you!
No, really…Tacoma Public Libraries have planned some fun Star Wars events, and if you have Jedis at your house, you’ll want to get in on them for sure.
Saturday, the 30th, the main library is hosting Jedi Training at 1PM. Registration is suggested. This is for ages 9 and up-which seems old to me-but I guess this is a serious course! Hey, the galaxy isn’t going to defend itself!
There is also a drop-in, all ages event at the same time where you can take pics with costumed characters, do some Star Wars crafting, and check out collectibles.
Finally, if you stick around until 3, the whole family can enjoy a special showing of the original Star Wars, (It is a PG movie, if you’ve somehow never seen it, and there are some scenes with light saber style violence, and there is a bit of kissing). The first 75 families get prop bags to make it an interactive experience!
Henry is a Star Wars super fan, so we may try to hit the meet and greet. Our SFM reader event is later that same day, just up the hill. It’s shaping up to be a pretty exciting day. May the force be with us, indeed! For more library events, check my weekly list. I also have links and scoop on all area library summer reading programs here.
Thanks, Lynette!
