Playground Report: The Playground at Priest Point Park in Olympia

June 14, 2012 by Maegen Blue

Today’s Playground Report takes us to the digs at Priest Point Park in Olympia, and it’s worth a trip  if you’re one of my readers in the Lacey or Olympia area.

It features a colorful, fun ship theme, with that awesome rubber surfacing. There is a smaller structure for little ones, as well as some swings. Both my boys really enjoyed this one, and I liked that it really seemed to get their imaginations going. The other terrific thing about this playground is that there are beautiful, tall trees around it and ample picnic tables. There are so many other playgrounds that would be great if only they had more than two little benches sitting in the blazing sun.  When you’re done at the playground, this is a truly gorgeous park with forested trails and a hike to the beach. I will tell you that they are steep and not suitable for strollers or young kiddos.

Now, confession time: This was our first visit here, and we didn’t have as much time to explore as I would have liked because we were doing a mad tour of other Olympia sites for my older son’s report. So, while we’re looking forward to making a day of it here this summer, I would Love to know any insider info! If you’ve been to this one, do leave a comment and let me know your thoughts!
