It’s Free Comic Book Day! Kids can get free comics at participating stores. Locations include the Puyallup Public Library, Comic Book Ink in Lakewood, and several others. Go early for best selection. The free book is usually choice from four or five kid suitable titles.
It’s Kentucky Derby Day! Wear a hat for free admission to Emerald Downs in Auburn. Face painting and pony rides for the kids

Tiptoe Through the Tidepools Free Join trained naturalists to explore Tacoma’s Titlow Beach at low tide. Not near you? Try Owen’s Beach by the zoo, or I’m told Priest Point and Burfoot near Olympia are good spots. Any of the beaches near Gig Harbor should offer good exploring as well. Check the tide tables and wear clothing suitable for mud.
