Last year this event filled about 5 seconds after I posted it, so I’m getting a jump on it this go round!
If you have an adventuresome kid who’s dreaming of a career in aviation, this is one hot ticket. It’s a yearly event at Thun Field in Graham, where volunteer pilots take kids 8-17 for free rides in small airplanes.
This year’s event is on Saturday, June 30th. I have friends whose kids have participated in the past and really enjoyed it, though obviously, it’s not for everyone. You can read all about it here, (pdf) and see more faqs at the home page here. Then go here to register your young aviator. As of this moment, there are plenty of open slots at various times, but I suspect that will change in a hurry once school flyers go out.
If you’ve found this site via the amazing team over at ThriftyNWMom or by Googling around about this event-welcome! I write about activities for kids and families in the South Sound, and I have new updates daily. I hope you’ll consider subscribing to my emails or joining us on Facebook-and please do come back again!
thank you so much- got my kiddos signed up- how cool! 🙂
Looking forward to receiving your posts.
