Water Weekends at HCC Mast at Redondo Every Saturday you can get up close with critters in the touch tanks and learn about sea life. Free
Meerkat Birthday Party at the Pt.Defiance Zoo Head to the meerkat exhibit at noon to watch the critters enjoy special treats and presents. Included with admission. Admission is pricey;SFM recommends investing in an annual pass, unless you can take advantage of monthly free days for Tacoma City Residents.
Lacey Family Fish-In. I’d call first to see if spaces remain. Last I checked, morning sessions were full, but there were some afternoon slots for your young fishers. I have a whole round up of kids’ fishing events here.

Park Appreciation Day Tacoma It’s Earth Day and many area parks departments have events planned. Metro Parks Tacoma has set up this site to help you find an event if you’d like to participate. You might also just call your park to see if they have something organized. If you’re one of my friends in the Gig Harbor or Key Peninsula areas go here
