One of our favorite summer thing is Kids Bowl Free! This is a popular program, but if you’re not familiar with it, it works just like it sounds-you register your kids, and they get two totally free games of bowling every day, all summer long! Different centers have different policies-at ours we did have to pay for the cost of shoes, but that was only about 2.00. Over on the SFM Facebook page, readers suggested looking for shoes to purchase on ebay, which is probably a good idea if you’re frequent bowlers.
When you go to checkout, you’ll also be given the option of adding a family pass, which lets you bowl along with the kiddos all summer for about 25.00. It’s a super deal if you’d use it.
We’ve had a great time with this program at our local lanes. As always, it’s a good idea to call before you go to check out the hours and crowds.
To get in on the action, just go to the Kids Bowl Free site and find a center near you. You’ll either get the go ahead to register, or you’ll be invited to sign up for an email alert that will let you know when your center is registering. I know this sounds too good to be true, but we’ve done this three years in a row, and it’s been a great, go-to option. You’ll also be invited to purchase a family pass, which is a great deal if you’d like to get in on the fun, too. If you’re one of my Olympia readers, and you just can’t wait, you might want to check out this deal from Living Social to Aztec Lanes. 22.00 gets you two games of bowling, plus shoes and sodas for four. Not a bad deal at all. There is a similar deal under Seattle to Roxbury Lanes.
