We interrupt all things kid with this special report for *gasp* grown-ups.
Tacoma is launching it’s first Restaurant Week! Participating restaurants will be offering 3 course meals for 25.00 a person. Now, I know that’s still a little spendy, especially if you’re paying a sitter, but these are some really nice spots-we’re talking Marrow and El Gaucho, just to name two. There are also several Gig Harbor restaurants participating.
Now, as you’d expect, there are special menus for this event-you don’t get to do normal picking and choosing. My husband and I ate at the Barking Frog during Seattle’s restaurant week, and we were very pleased. The portions were regular size, the waiter didn’t roll his eyes at us for being cheap, and we were able to treat ourselves to a place we couldn’t normally afford.
The event runs April 15th-19th, but most spots are taking reservations now, and I suspect you’ll need ’em! For more information, see the source for all things hip in T-Town, The Weekly Volcano. If shakes and burgers are more your style (nothing wrong with that!) be sure to check my deal of the day page for today’s half-off deal to Johnny Rockets.
