If you’re looking for outings today, the weekend list has a couple (well, two) ideas for Sunday, including a craft event at Michael’s. If you’d like to stay home, I’ve got a bonus project for you. This adorableness is courtesy of my hyper-local blogging friend Annie, who writes Kidlist, a blog for families in the Western Springs, La Grange area near Chicago, Illinois.
The base is just an egg carton cup. Even your littlest ones could paint ’em. The clever part is Annie put a little disk over the bottom, so these can hold things, like a Valentine’s message or some little kisses.
Now, there is no way in the world I’d be able to get these done for the whole class, but wouldn’t they be a nice, something special for the teachers or grandparents? I also think you could totally repurpose this idea for other holidays or seasons. If you like it, too, you can get all the directions over at Kidlist .
If you can’t get enough of the creative life, be sure to check out the Deal of the Day to the Children’s Museum in Seattle. They have a great art studio. Oh, and make sure you read about making a wreath of paper hearts, a guest post from Katie of Play for a Day near Seattle!
