Here’s a little update if you’ve been thinking about checking out the special train display at City Blocks in Freighthouse Square.
The boys and I went this morning, and they had a ball. As you can see, most of the room is taken up by the train display, which is all Lego and something to see! There are tables going around with Legos kids can use as they like, as well as a small area with Thomas Duplos. Honestly, most of the adults I saw were bored in about ten minutes. Most of the kids could have lived there. My advice? Bring yourself a book and grab a seat. My guys built happily for a good hour, and I was just thrilled to see them into something besides electronics. There were half a dozen kids there when we arrived, but most of the time we had the place almost to ourselves. If you’d like to go, it runs through January 2nd-M-F 10-5 and Saturday/Sunday 11-4. It will be closed New Years Day.
If this doesn’t look like enough of an outing, there is an interesting food court upstairs, or you could check out Celebrity Cakes, or ride the link right to the heart of the downtown museum district. You can read more about the train exhibit at the history museum, and the City Blocks event in my original post. If you have Lego fanatics, you might also want to get ’em a Free copy of the Lego magazine!
