It’s Offishally the Holidays: Touch Sea Critters and See the Christmas Ship

December 7, 2011 by Maegen Blue

Here’s a holiday event that’s a little different.

Tomorrow you can see the Argosy Christmas ship and enjoy the aquarium at the HCC Mast Center at Redondo’s Open House. The event is fromĀ  7:30-9:30. You can check out the critters in the touch tanks and enjoy hot drinks and snacks. Plus, you’ll have a great view of the Christmas ships, which are scheduled to arrive around 8:50.

If this doesn’t fit your schedule, the center will be open Saturday the 10th, before closing for the holidays. As always, a visit is free and offers your kiddos the chance to get up close and personal with the sea critters in the center’s touch tanks.

For more opportunities to see the Christmas ships, check the whole schedule here. Most communities offer a free bonfire or other fun in conjunction with their arrival. Do dress warmly and be mindful of traffic changes and pedestrian traffic. If you’d actually like to ride one of the Christmas ships, there are some times available from Goldstar. The prices get into the, “Oh, my goodness,” range pretty fast, but I’m sure it would be a memorable outing. I also still see some PNB Nutcracker dates on the site for those of you interested in that.
