If you’re one of my Puyallup area readers, I want to make sure you know about this event. I know that it won’t apply to many of you, but I think it would be a great thing to pass on to friends you know who may be in need, or folks who work with people who are.
It’s the annual Day of Services put on by the Puyallup Homeless Coalition. There will be opportunities for free medical and dental care, assistance from DSHS, activities for the kids, and more. They will also gladly accept your donations of hygiene products, socks, coats, backpacks, and non perishable canned goods. There will also be live music from area students. The event is at the Memorial Community Center, which is the brick building by Grayland Park downtown, from 10AM-4PM. It’s free and open to the public. If you’re planning on bringing kids for health services, do come with all their records.
Here is an event flyer in pdf form.
PS If you’re here via the amazing Jen of ThriftyNWmom, welcome! I write just about events for the South Sound, and I try to keep them fun and affordable for the whole family. I hope you’ll come back again. In just a jiffy I’ll have a whole list of ideas for your weekend right around here!
