I updated the bouncy house list and the indoor playground list last week. You can find both, plus South Sound malls with play areas, under Rainy Day Play. I also have the 2011pumpkin patch list in the menu bar, if you’re up for outdoor adventures.

Story time is back at all area libraries! Every day this week, there are multiple events for all ages. Use the calendar that comes up on the left after clicking each link to change the date. Here are links:

Science Classes for Home Schoolers and other children resume at the Nature Center at Snake Lake
Pumpkin Perfect Momtopia Event at the Supermall in Auburn Free event for Momtopia members (membership is free; sign up at cs; your kids also get a free balloon with every mall visit). 10AM For moms and kids under 6; pumpkin decorating-limited to first 300 children.
Car seat safety checks Free weekly check at Mary Bridge in Tacoma. Link has contact info. for fire stations and other sites for seat inspections.
It’s 1.00 day at the Starplex in Federal Way (tickets are just 2.00 other days). Kung Fu Panda and Mr.Popper’s Penguins look like your best bets right now.
Mom and baby class at Good Samaritan Two class times for moms and babies 0-12
Read With a Dog Every Tuesday at the Graham Library, kids can practice their reading skills with a patient canine listener. Drop in program; 6:30-7:45
Thank You For Reading Banned Books Week With Sherman Alexie An event for grown-ups and interested teens (maybe tweens….I’ll let you decide). The celebrated author will be lecturing on issues related to censorship and literature (expect plenty of dry humor as well). Event will be held in the pavillion at Pioneer Park. 7pm
Art After School at the Steilacoom Library 4PM For kids 6 and up Supplies provided
Fetch Club at the Parkland/Spanaway Library 4PM Registration required Science Club for 3-5th graders based on the PBS series; at all area libraries at different times/days.
Read With a Dog Every Wednesday at the Summit Library, kids can practice their reading skills with a patient canine listener. Drop in program; 6:30-7:45
Critter Club is back at the Pt.Defiance zoo Animal encounter and themed story and crafts for 3 and 4 year olds. 6.00 for members; 8.00 for non-members (Critter Club does not include zoo admission). 2.00 more day-of. Advance Registration highly encouraged. Also on Friday Today’s is Excellent Elephants Program begins at 11
Symphony on Wheels at the Milton/Edgewood Library Collaboration between the Seattle Symphony and the Pierce County Library. Children can learn about and explore musical instruments. 4PM Free tickets available day of event. This event is rotating through the PCL system.
Thrifty Thursday at Olympia Family Theater See Bunnicula for 5.00
Llama, Llama Story Fun at the Puyallup Library 4PM Bring your little ones and help set a record as readers around the nation enjoy this story about the pajamed llama who wants his mama. Craft afterwards Similar events at every Pierce County Library branch
Reading With a Doggie Friend Practice reading skills with a patient canine listener. Drop in anytime between 3:30-4:30 at the Puyallup Public Library. It’s mixed breed, Dan today.
Family Fun Day at the Harbor History Museum in Gig Harbor 10:30-12 Geared towards children 3-6 craft, story, and a special artifact from the museum’s collection. admission + 1.00. Have you made it to this museum yet? It’s a good one! Read my post on this Gig Harbor fun spot.
