Meet Midland Cooperative Preschool: A Unique Program For Kids as Young as One-and Their Grown-ups!

August 23, 2011 by Maegen Blue

One of the things that surprised me when my boys were small was how lonely some days felt. Oh, sure, I never had a minute of privacy, but what I really craved was a little adult conversation and friendship-especially when Henry went from being a sweet, smiley baby to a totally adorable, but very challenging toddler. Would you like to hear about the hitting or the biting first?

Yep, I really needed some adult time, but how do you make friends when you’re new to town, and you’ve got a kid channeling his inner velociraptor?

If you can relate to this at all, you’ll want to check out Midland Cooperative Preschool, which offers a totally unique program for one to three year olds  and their caregivers. Their bright and open class is located in the Midland area, right off of 512, making it convenient for families from Puyallup and Graham to Tacoma and Parkland.

Every session includes time for the kiddos to play and socialize under the guidance of trained, early childhood teachers, while their caregivers enjoy discussions with parent educators on topics ranging from potty training to discipline (two things we could have used a lot of help with over here). There is also time for parents and children to play together, as well as snack and music. Oh, and because Midland is affiliated with Bates Technical College, you’ll even be earning college credit.

Non mobile siblings can come along for no additional charge, and there are discounts and scholarships available, too. You can find out much more about the program and the requirements for co-op membership by visiting their site. You can also attend their upcoming open house on Wednesday, September 14th from 9:30-11:00. Be sure to tell them I sent you!
