As you probably know, the Children’s Museum of Tacoma is in the process of a major expansion. If you’ve been reading SFM for a while, you might remember that thanks to a generous donation by Key Bank, admission will be free (or pay as you will), for the first five years.
Now your kiddos have a chance to be junior philanthropists and help the museum support the pay as you will program.
The drive is called the We Play! Piggy Bank Brigade, and kids can pick up special, free banks from Tacoma area farmers’ markets beginning the 25th. Of course, they’re welcome to use their own banks as well. Any child who brings in a full bank (a 64 oz. or larger bottle filled with coins) gets to attend a special play time at the new museum this December. Talk about VIP treatment!
If you have a regular crew of museum loving pals, you might also consider forming a team. There are two age categories, and the team that raises the most money gets a pizza party at the new museum.
If you just can’t wait, read my post on how to play for free at the museum right now.
