It’s the first day of summer, friends! Want some ideas for today? Scroll down or head straight to What Sounds Fun This Week!
I have several posts planned today, but I want to start by telling you about another too cool pool!
It’s the one at Stewart Heights, and I know how you can swim for free!
The pool is an outdoor one, and it features a beach-style entry, water slide, tumble buckets, and more! You can get all this fun for a teensy-beensy fraction of a fancy water park, or add your name to the Metro Parks Aquatics newsletter list, by June 30th, and you’ll get emailed a coupon for a free swim session for a family of 4 by July 1st!
You can use your coupon for entry to Stewart Heights, or Titlow, Eastside, or Norpoint! Regular admission is 7.00 for adults and 6.00 for kids for a full session, and a few dollars less for a shorter time..
I know I don’t have to tell you this, but do be vigilant with your children around even the smallest bit of water and consider investing in swim lessons. We love the Fife Pool, and my oldest is really a beautiful swimmer. Henry may be stuck on torpedo for the next 3 years, but he’s trying….
If none of these cool pools are near you, check out my post on the fabulous indoor pool in Federal Way. My kids have also had a blast at the pool at the Gig Harbor Y. If you’re not a member, you can get a one day pass to check it out for free. Non-member parents can swim with their member kids for no charge (they don’t want your kids swimming without you, ‘natch). I find the membership fees spendy, but kids don’t pay joining fees.
Know another great place to keep cool? Leave a comment and let me know! You might also consider hanging out at the Sounds Fun Mom Facebook page. It’s a great place to ask a question and get all kinds of help from fun families near you. Don’t forget to share Sounds Fun Mom with your friends in a panic about this summer break thing.
