I mentioned this great freebie on the Facebook page, but I wanted to make sure everyone saw it. It’s a one day class on Pioneer life offered by PLU, and it’s Free.
Kids in grades 2-5 will learn about pioneer life and the Oregon trail, learn old-time cooking techniques, and even pose for frontier photos. How great is that? It’s Wednesday, August 3rd, and you do have to register. Now, I don’t know if there is still space. I didn’t want to add it to my cart and mess things up. So, if it is full, please come leave a comment.
Two other fun, free camps I’ve mentioned before are the moviemaking camp at Apple stores and the How to Protect Sea Life camp offered by Surfriders at Pt.Defiance. The Tacoma Mall store still has two sessions with spots available, but the others are Full, so if your 8-12 year old would love this, don’t wait much longer (change the store location if there is another location closer to you). The sea life camp is a one day event in July, and there are plenty of slots open for all ages, mainly because this event is rather bizarrely buried in their web site. Sign up now before someone moves it!
