Do you have a young animal lover? If so, get out your calendar and make a big, crazy circle around June 4th, which is the first day to register for the next junior volunteer workshop at the Tacoma Humane Society. I know that’s still a bit off, but the first workshop filled before I had a chance to get my post up!
The workshops are new to the society, and they’re designed for kids ages 5-15. Each has a theme (June’s is “Cat Causes,”) and includes a take home craft. Kids also learn more about the animals at the shelter and get to have plenty of time interacting with them and helping care for them. All of this animal love costs just 10.00 per child for the 2 hr. workshop.
If you don’t want to commit to a full workshop, you can also see the shelter’s event schedule to find out when you’ll be able to see some of their cute and cuddly friends at a pet store or event near you.
Warning: If you end up adopting an extra four legged friend, I take no responsibility. If you can’t resist puppy dog eyes, you may want to head elsewhere! If you’re just getting here today, don’t forget to scroll down for my regular weekday list.
