Story times at Pierce County Libraries. Every library has multiple story time events this week. Select the date you want on the calendar and find a story session at a library near you! There are also story times at Tacoma Public Libraries. I don’t list these separately due to space issues. If you’re one of my Thurston County readers, here is the link toTimberland regional library. It’s 1.00 day at the Starplex in Federal Way (tickets are just 2.00 other days). Current kid flicks include Wimpy Kid II, Gnomeo and Juliet and Yogi. I saw the Wimpy kid one with my 8 year old. Lots of potty/underwear humor, but o.k. otherwise
Free day at the Pt.Defiance Zoo for residents of the city of Tacoma You must have proof of residency within the city limits (such as a utility bill) and photo i.d.
Stories and Strings at the Muckleshoot Library at 11 AM Stories, songs, and silliness for all ages
Storytime with Leroy It’s the last story time of the year at the Tacoma Art Museum 11AM Free with admission (try to get an Art Access pass from your library to go for free).
Gaming for Kids and Families at the South Hill library 1-3 PM Drop in program for kids 6-12
Art After School in Steilacoom Drop in kids’ program at the library for kids 6 and up 4PM
Fetch Club at the Parkland/Spanaway Library. Science club for kids in grades 3-5 based on the popular PBS series Registration required
Mommy and Me Fitness Class at Elev8te Fitness in Tacoma I haven’t been here or tried this, but reader Corey sent in a note that she takes her whole crew weekly and has a blast.
Playgrounds on Ice in Bremerton Pick up a pass at the Bremerton Parks and Rec office and skate for free at the Bremerton Ice Center through the end of May; skate rental 2.50. If you’re one of my Pierce County readers, Sprinker is closing May 17th for a major refurbishment, so make your plans to get in a last skate soon!
The Knack! Make it Take it Event at Michaels Make a frame for mom Free with frame purchase 6-8PM For kids 3 and up There is a necklace making event for teenagers Thursday.
Mommy and Me Tea at Bates Free monthly tea for moms and babies up to 6 mos old lead by a Bates Parent Educator. Get a tour of the resource center and take home a free make and take project.
Make a banner or flag at the Children’s Museum of Tacoma to celebrate Cinco de Mayo Included with admission (try to get the Play Pass from your library to go for free).
Luna Moms Playgroup in Puyallup Organized by Codi of Stroller Strides but open to any mom with a little one. Want to list your group? Just give me a holler!
Read with a dog at the Puyallup Public Library 3:30-4:30 Drop in and practice your reading.
Critter Club at the Pt.Defiance Zoo Animal themed story time, craft, and animal encounter for preschoolers Zoo admission not included; Registration not required but recommended, and it will give you a discount. 6.00/8.00-2.00 more for day-off. 11AM also on Friday
Family Fun Time at the Harbor History Museum *New date and time! 10:30-12:00 Craft and story 1.00 plus admission

Nature Discovery Hour at the Tacoma Nature Center at Snake Lake Explore the Discovery Pond Play area with special tools and a naturalist as your guide. 3.00 per child; no charge for adults 10:30
