Snow Adventure with Metro Parks-Just 8.00 a family. Metro parks will do the driving to snow play areas. You need to call to register, and I’m not at all sure what space is. Let me know if you do this! Thanks to Centsible in Seattle for this one, too.
Water Weekends at HC Mast at Redondo Every Saturday kids can get up close with sea creatures in touch tanks and see other aquatic animals. 10-2 Free
Career Day at NWTrek Free event for high school and college students Limited to the first 50 registrants. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Go here to read about more opportunities for kids interested in animal careers.
Kent Kids’ Art Day. 10.00 per child; Adults and kids under 2 are free. All day event with hands-on art activities. We did this a few years ago when we lived in Kent. If you’ve got a school age art lover, it is Absolutely worth the 10.00. Check out the different activities available to see if it sounds like something your guys would enjoy. Family Day at the Karshner Museum in Puyallup Today’s theme is women inventors. 3.00 a person or 10.00 a family. This is a small museum, but it’s full of things kids are encouraged to touch, and there will be other special activities. Note: The website is not up to date, but I have confirmed this event. Snake Lake Science Fair Public viewing of projects by Snake Lake Science Club members and others. 1:30-2:30. If you are a home schooling family, you should know about the science club (it’s open to other kids as well). Check out this year’s projects and get your kids inspired to do their own!

South Sound Sustainability Expo Not a kids’ event, but if your family is interested in going greener, it’s free and should have lots of interesting information. Check out the list of groups that will be on hand. Free event; begins at 10AM
Olympia-Indoor Rummage Sale from 7AM-1PM to Benefit Free Cakes for Kids South Sound. I’ve asked Autumn to do a feature here at Sounds Fun Mom soon. This is an amazing, all volunteer, mom run group that makes sure no child goes without a special cake on his birthday. The sale is in Olympia at the Living Water Church, and there will be homemade treats and concessions.
Want more near Olympia? Tour the Budd Inlet water treatment facility with staff from the WET center. O.K….this sounds a little odd, but I bet your kids would Love it! Free Begins at 1:00 PM; See the flyer at the site for more details.
ISI Camp Showtime at the Sprinker Recreation Center Young skaters perform routines they’ve had just an afternoon to learn. Day of show tickets are 2.00. Concessions are available. Dress warmly for the rink. Evening event 6:30-8:00
