Welcome to readers from “The Bump,” and ThriftyNWmom.
I write about affordable family events and activities in the South Puget Sound every day! Consider taking a minute to subscribe to my RSS feed or emails, or Like me on Facebook and join a fun group of active area parents. You’ll find my shiny, new (easier to find and see) subscribe buttons on your left!
First, Deal Alert (just skip down if you don’t care) If somehow you haven’t heard, there is a Groupon out that will give you 50.00 worth of goodies from Nordstrom Rack for 25.00. Really. There’s no catch. It does have to be used by the end of December. This pretty much buttoned up my Christmas shoppping.
Back to business….
Here are some ideas for Sunday fun in the South Sound!
Enumclaw Festival of Crafts and Gifts More details on their Craig’s List post. Kids can shop with a player from an area softball team. They will be supervised and their gift will be wrapped. Donation to the team plus cost of the gift. Low cost Santa photos also available.
Fantasty Lights Walk 5-7 PM Your one chance to walk Fantasy Lights before it becomes a drive through event. Bundle up! You can read more about it in my original post here.
Head to the aquarium at Pt.Defiance. Skip looking at the animals and just enjoy the warmth in the tropical area. You’ll probably be by yourself.
Shopping for an outdoorsman? Cruise down to Cabela’s and let your kids oggle giant, stuffed animals and feed the freaky, big fish.
Just go play in the snow. I know you only have five or six flakes, but your kids are probably begging to, and you need to figure out if you have boots, mittens, and hats for everyone anyway.
My oldest has been geared up since dawn. I do believe he’s wearing his snow bibs to church.
New here? Consider subscribing to my RSS feed or emails so you don’t miss a thing, or come join us on the SFM Facebook page.
Know something fun and affordable I missed? Don’t keep it to yourself-let me know!
I’ll be listing a whole slew of holiday events in a special section in the next few days. If your group or organization has a family friendly outing you want to see on Sounds Fun Mom let me know! You can use the reply form, or email me at meg@soundsfunmom.com
Tomorrow, I have a museum Monday post, and I’ll be listing ideas for Thanksgiving outings, too. Plus, I’m launching a special homebound survival feature just…you know…..in case.
Have a great one!
