One of the easiest ways to multipy your options for low-priced family fun is to check out the offerings at the parks and recreation departments in neighboring cities. Non-residents do pay more, but the difference is typically only a few dollars. Just like that: You’ve doubled, tripled, or quadrupled your options!
Parks departments offer sports programs for adults and kids of all ages, but they also offer a whole variety of classes and workshops.
Here are a few options coming up in our area:
Fife
Preschool Kids Camp for Kids ages 3-5 December 6-8 9:30-11:30 Crafts, games, and more. 35.00 for residents; 40.00 for non-residents
Auburn
Nutcracker Tea Party Ballerinas 4-6 enjoy a special dance time, snack and a visit from the Sugar Plum Fairy. Ballet outfits or party dresses that allow for movement are encouraged. December 4th at 2:30 10.00 for residents; 13.00 for non-residents
Puyallup
Kids in the Kitchen (Scroll down from the inital page view for the current class)-Wednesdays-starting tomorrow. Kids learn to prepare desserts in this session. Ages 6-11 Call to check on availability
Sumner
Kids’ Martial Arts Classes begin January Rates available for kids or families. Just 5.00 more for non-residents
Gig Harbor
Gig Harbor/Pen-Met Parks Breakfast with Santa on December 4th at the Boys and Girls Clubs. Just 5.00 when you preregister!
Metro Parks/Tacoma -Nature Yoga begins November 12th at the Tacoma Nature Center. For older students, science club resumes on the 16th.
