I’ve got mixed feelings about this post.
Half of me is so excited to tell you about kids’ art classes at the Fred Oldfield Center. The other half wants to keep it all to myself-there, I said it.
The Fred Oldfield Center is located at the Puyallup fairgrounds. You’ve probably wandered in before-it’s got all the western art and cowboy things.
What you might not know is that the center offers art classes for kids of all ages year round!
Jack did one of the daycamps this summer, and I was so impressed to find that the volunteer teachers really Teach Art. The kids aren’t just copying or crafting; they’re learning real techniques like shading and perspective.
There are a variety of classes for different ages and interests, and tuition is a genuine bargain.
I’d tell you more, but I’ve said enough….Seriously, if you have a child with an interest in art, and you live anywhere near Puyallup, do yourself a favor and check it out. Classes start at the beginning of October, and there are programs for adults, too! If you call and talk to one of the volunteers, she’ll probably call you honey. Love it!
