This is my oldest’s favorite time of year. I think it’s a little weird, too-don’t most kids choose Summer?
His reasoning? Fall means the Puyallup fair, fresh apple cider, and trick or treating. Good points! I’ll have posts about the other two at a later date, but today I want to tell you about a great option for apple picking and cider making.
It’s the annual event at the Curran orchard in University Place. Bring your own, clean containers for picking and turn them into cider if you choose (you can purchase a jug for a dollar).
The event is at 1:00 this Sunday. You’ll want to get there early. Read up on the rest of the details here.http://www.thenewstribune.com/2010/09/08/1332173/time-to-think-about-apples-cider.html
I’ll have more posts about other area farms and orchards later in the season.
By the way, if your husband is like mine, you may hear some grumbling in between lugging and washing the apples.
Pretend you don’t notice. I promise the cider will be delicious, and the pictures will be adorable.
