December 1st Santa comes to Milton crafts and snacks at city hall, followed by tree lighting, Santa’s arrival and visits

December 1st-Santa Parade and Tree Lighting in Auburn Snacks and crafts, movies, parade and tree lighting. Santa’s regular open house hours begin.

November 22nd-January 1st Fantasy Lights at Spanaway Lake (Drive-Thru)
November 23rd-December 24th The reindeer are in at Watson’s nursery in Puyallup Santa during most hours, too.
November 23rd Bridge Lighting and Fireworks at the Old Cannery in Sumner Begins at 5PM
November 23rd-Sleigh Rides and Santa at the Old Cannery in Sumner Santa Land weekends beginning the 23rd and going through December 23rd. Carriage Rides weekends beginning the 15th of December
November 23rd or 24th Got Princesses? Tree lighting, stories, and special guests at A Simple Wish in Puyallup Tickets 17.95 a person. Call for reservations There is also an open house at Simple Wish the day of the Santa Parade, and a Belle event later in the month.
November 23rd-January 1st Zoolights at the Point Defiance Zoo
November 24th Tree Lighting and Sound of Music Sing Along in Downtown Tacoma Tree lighting is a free community event. Tickets to the Sound of Music sing along are 24.00. Get them half off through Goldstar.
November 28th-December 2nd Victorian Country Christmas at the Puyallup Fairgrounds Gift festival with strolling entertainers in Victorian dress, Santa train ride, and carousel
December 1st Santa Parade in Puyallup Tree lighting follows

November 24th-December 23rd Argosy Christmas Ships Lighted ships with choirs visit waterfront communities around the Puget Sound. You can book a ride on one (pricey) or attend a free event in conjunction with one of their stops. Here is the complete schedule. Best bets in the South Sound are the stops at Redondo and Browns Point. If you’re interested in riding on one, check Goldstar for discounted tickets.
December 1st and 2nd Multicare Festival of Trees Beautifully decorated trees and entertainment. Tacoma
December 1st Tree Lighting in University Place A full day of fun proceeds Santa’s arrival by fire truck at 3, “Christmas train rides,” and more. Tree lighting at 6PM
December 1st Firefighters Food Drive and Pancake Breakfast East Pierce Fire and Rescue serves up flapjacks for just 3.00. Bring donations of food or warm clothing. Good chance you’ll see Santa.

December 1st-19th Century Christmas at Ft.Nisqually Experience an 1855 Christmas at Hyas Sunday. Admission charged.
December 1st-Victorian Holiday Celebration at the Seymour Conservatory at Wright Park Volunteers in Victorian period dress will serve refreshments and accept donations of gloves, socks, or cash for the rescue mission. Children can hear stories; professional photographs available for 15.00.
December 1st Reindeer Games at the Puyallup Activity Center 6-8PM event for parents and children Crafts, photo op with Rudolph, and more. 13.00/10.00 Register
December 2nd St Lucia Fest at PLU 7PM Hour long program with traditional Swedish song, dance, and a children’s performance
December 5th-19th Gingerbread House Making at Pierce County Libraries Various dates; Link opens a pdf Some are drop-in, but others require registration and they do fill fast. Find the library you want on the list, and then go to the calendar view for sign ups. You can use the tools in the left sidebar to search by location.

December 15th Holiday Boat Parade travels along the Tacoma waterfront
December 18th Christmas Cookies with Mrs. Claus with Puyallup Parks and Rec for ages 3-12 14.00/12.00 residents Cookie making supplies included; Mrs.Claus will read a story. Do register early. Sadly, the Santa breakfast is already full. 5-6PM
December 21st Parents Night Out/Last Chance shopping event in Puyallup Fees and registration required
December 24th Jingle Bell Run Chip timed 5K at Wright Park Bring donations for the rescue mission. Deadline 12/22. No day-of. 10.00 For ages 4 and up. Entry fee includes jingle bells.
December 26th-January 1st- Winter Wildland at NW Trek Watch animals enjoy special themed enrichment treats and activities; included with admission Trek is pricey; SFM recommends investing in an annual pass if you’d go even twice this year.
December 31st-First Night in Tacoma Family friendly New Years with activities at a variety of venues. More on this to come.
