Since 1986 Ethnic Fest has grown to become the largest celebration of culture and community in Tacoma. Voted the best festival of the South Sound; this year Ethnic Fest takes place Saturday-Sunday, July 29-30, from Noon to 7:00pm at historic Wright Park in Tacoma, WA. This family-friendly, free festival has grown in size and hosts Kid’s Zones, multiple entertainment stages, as well as numerous specialty arts & crafts, food and informational vendors. You are invited to apply to participate in Ethnic Fest and join us in celebrating 30 years of culture, community and festivities.

Asia Pacific Cultural Center Tent

12-7pm – Demo & Hands on Clay sculptures representing the country of Thailand
12-7pm – Caligraphy – Name written in Korean
12-7pm – Caligraphy – Name written in Cambodian
12-7pm – Wood Carving, Coconut Grating, Jewlery Making represnting Micronesia
12-7pm – Chinese Origami
12-7pm – Caligraphy – Name written in Chinese
4-7pm – Japanese Story telling with Puppet Show
6-7pm – Hula Lessons

Kids Stage Performances

Clay Martin Puppet Show: Clay Martin will be performing several short show including Punch & Judy, King Arthur, Jack The Giant-Killer, Treasure Island and other wonderful tails!

Metro Arts Dance Companies: They will be performing a jazz dance piece that they have been learning though out the summer. They will be dancing to “Try Everything” By Shakira from the hit movie Zootopia! These dancers have been performing with Metro Arts since they were 3 and 4 years old. They recently just finished their spring production of the Sleeping Beauty and they are very excited to be on stage again.

Kids Zone Games
July 30th and 31st: Giant Jenga and Giant Checkers

Mobile Tec Lab
Saturday July 30th: They will have tablet that children will be able to play educational game with.

Wright Park Spray Park
The Spray park will open as early as 10am and closes at 8pm. The weather is going to be in the 90’s that weekend so be prepared to stay cool in the Spray Park!

Metro Arts

Saturday July 30th Children will be invited to learning about the background and how to create Origami art! During this time they will be able to learn the basic folds and shapes needed to make the beautiful paper creations.

Sunday July 31st: Flash back and learn how to create your own loom! We will be exploring the what looms were used for and what amazing things they can create.

Lego Tent
July 30th and 31st: The Lego tent will be representing LEGO”S home country of Denmark and allowing children to create masterpieces of their own.

The Spray park will open as early as 10am and closes at 8pm. The weather is going to be in the 90’s that weekend so be prepared to stay cool in the Spray Park!
