April Pool’s Day is no joke – kids learn to be safe in water
Preventing drowning, the second leading cause of death in children, could be as simple as spending a free afternoon at your local swimming pool.
On Saturday, April 15 the public can celebrate April Pool’s Day at Eastside Pool, Norpoint Pool and People’s Pool. Free water safety activities will be followed by an open swim, hopefully changing the statistics and saving lives.
Participants will be able to brush up on water and boating safety skills and learn drowning prevention strategies by participating in games and water safety stations. After participating, families can enjoy a free open swim.
