Looking to save at the Spring Fair in Puyallup this year? Want a few tips to make the most of your visit? You’ve come to the right place!
We live up the hill from the fairgrounds, and as I’ve mentioned before, I actually prefer the Spring Fair to the big one. It’s just less busy and has more old-fashioned fun. Plus, the traffic doesn’t get snarled up for weeks…..there, I said it.
I’ve waded through all the options to give you the scoop on your best deals on admission, rides, and more. Plus, we have details on the day kids go FREE and what’s new this year!
Read on for my best tips for making the most of your Spring Fair going:
FREE Kids’ Gate Admission on opening day!
Kids ages 0-18 receive FREE gate admission on Thursday, April 20th, 2 p.m. – 10 p.m. with a suggested canned food donation for the Puyallup Food Bank. No coupon required.
Kids 5 and under are FREE every day of the Spring Fair.
Other Admission Deals-If you have school age kids, they should have brought home a coupon for 2.00 off admission. It also has a rides/games deal that’s good. I believe it’s 18.00 for six rides or games (with a couple of exceptions). If you can’t find this one, you can save your couple bucks by purchasing in advance from a ticket outlet, OR you can save even a little more with Goldstar if you’re willing to jump through a couple hoops. More on that below.
(my affiliate link) Tip–You can also save right now if you get your tickets through Goldstar. You’ll print them at home after you purchase. The only catch is Goldstar adds fees. The adult ticket ends up being 8.50, and the student ticket ends up being 7.00. This is the cheapest admission deal I’ve found apart from packages and the free kids’ day. I’ll let you decide whether the small hassle factor is worth it. Goldstar sells discount tickets to a variety of events, and I’ve never had any problems with them. It’s a good place to check for big Seattle shows, in particular.
If you need to go to the Spring Fair on a weekend, and your kids like rides, there are also some admission and ride package deals that are a good value. Most of those are only available through the 19th. You can check out all those options here.

If you can get the kids to just do a few rides/games, the coupon from school has a good offer.
Apart from that, the best deal I see right now is the ride and games fun card for 50.00. This gets you 120 tickets (note that rides and games take 7-12 tickets, so this is Not 120 rides).
Honestly, I don’t consider either of these a great deal, but they will save you a bit if you have kids that have to do rides. The best deal (You knew this right?) is to talk your kids into skipping the rides or only doing a couple (More money for treats!) You can see all the ride deals here.
Entertainment Deals– Check out the Kids’ Zone
The Spring Fair has a whole pavilion of mostly FREE fun, including face painting, science exhibits, seed planting, and more. There are also tons of contest exhibits at the Spring Fair, all of which are free to check out. AND
Be sure to check out some of the new attractions for kids: Storybook Village, the Daredevil High Dive Show, and the Pirate Parrot Patrol.
Update-We went yesterday. Do not miss the Storybook Village. There were a bunch of beloved kids’ characters in attendance (Photo ops!!!), and the whole thing is adorable!! There were also loads of free kids’ activities in the Kids’ Zone and at the petting zoo area. We also enjoyed seeing the reptiles and the diving dock dogs.
With a couple exceptions (rides and Monster Truck rides) all of it is free, and seriously-what beats baby animals? This is a Great fair for little ones.
Food Deals– Eat Before You Go-Not to be a total grinch, but here’s what’s going to get you. If you can avoid going hungry, you will save yourself a ton of money. My husband always has to get a bag of scones. It pretty much doubles the cost of the outing, but they are tasty!
