Wow! Our list of great things to do this weekend is absolutely jammed packed this week with Easter egg hunts, outdoor adventures, fairs, expos, and more fun things to do in Puyallup, Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Olympia, and just about everywhere else around the South Sound. Lots of them are Free, too!

Easter Egg Hunts at Xtreme Bounce of Fun at the Outlet Collection

Touch tanks at HCC Mast at Redondo  Free and open to the public every Saturday from 10-2  Reader Joanna wrote in to say they Were able to touch creatures in the touch tanks last week.

Greater Pierce County- Puyallup/Sumner/Orting/Graham

Easter at the Old Cannery in Sumner egg hunts and free photos  Easter Bunny for pictures, a petting zoo, and egg hunts from 11-4.

Lego Club at the Puyallup Public Library Story time followed by Lego building for kids 3-8

Read to a Dog at the Puyallup Public Library  Kids can drop in to do a bit of reading with Clover from 2-3.

Tacoma/South Tacoma/Lakewood

Block Play at Parkland/Spanaway Library 10AM Drop in for building time

April Pool’s Day at the Eastside Pool  Water safety class followed by free family swim. Free; participants must complete the water safety portion for entry to the open swim time. 1PM

 Free Earth Day Event at the Tacoma Nature Center   Insect exhibit!

Family Nature Walk at Oak Tree Park 10AM Join volunteer naturalists on a free nature walk. You are asked to register. Great for ages 3 and up; not suitable for strollers.

 Sewing to Sowing at Fort Nisqually Experience an 1850s spring  Demonstrations by costumed actors, hands-on activities, games  Admission is 5.00-8.00 Kids 4 and under are free

Visit the Job Carr Cabin Museum in Old Town from 1-4 small, but free (donations accepted) and interesting

Matinee at the Tillicum Library 1PM Family friendly title

Children and all ages shows at the Pierce College Science Dome/planetarium The children’s show is Magnificent Moons Children’s show at 2PM; all ages at 3:15 is Back to the Moon for Good

Gig Harbor Area

Lego Building Madness at the library

PenMet Parks Egg Hunt12-2 at Sehmel

Gig Harbor Farmer’s Market is now open!

 Water’s Xtreme Journey Exhibit opens at the Harbor History Museum

Craft at Michaels The Gig Harbor store does a craft for children every weekend.

Paradise Theater presents Treasure Island  Ongoing times through the 27th. I’m not sure how suitable this would be for young children. I’ll try to find out.

Lacey Family Fish In I posted about this fun event previously. It did require advance registration-call the parks department before you head out to see if you can still get in.

Dinosaur Egg Hunt at the Hands-on Children’s Museum  Three different time slots. Also egg crafts and science. Included with admission. The HOCM is a new sponsor this month. Please tell them I sent you!

Visit the new South Sound Estuarium  10AM-3PM

Visit the LOTT Wet Science Center  Free and open to the public every weekend. Crab hat making today and an underwater photography presentation/discussion probably suitable for older kids at 2PM Link opens a lengthy pdf

Norway Day at the Thurston County Fairgrounds  demonstrations, music, vendors and bake sale 10-4

Visit the new South Sound Estuarium in Olympia  10AM-3PM   You may want to check on this first-I haven’t confirmed
