We’re soooo proud to be sponsored by Tacoma Symphony’s Mini Maestros program.
If you missed last month’s special concert just for kids and their favorite grown-ups, be sure to mark your calendar for the next one coming up on March 16th. Each program has a different, fun theme, all designed to introduce young children 2-8 to classical music. Oh, and every performance begins with an instrument, “Petting zoo.” I know-how cute is that?
The shows themselves are short and lively with kid friendly, interactive tunes. Jungle James features a brass quintet with horn, trumpet, trombone, and tuba. Music will take children on a visit to the deep, dark jungle where they’ll learn how the instruments can sound like animals, and about high and low sounds–the bigger the instrument, the lower the sound! Musical selections will be drawn from Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals, Mancini’s Baby Elephant Walk, and more.
Shows are at 2:30 at the University of Puget Sound, and tickets are a totally reasonable 7.00 and 10.00!
Disclosure: Mini Maestros is a Sounds Fun Mom sponsor. I know you’ll love Jungle Jams, and I’d love for you to let the TSO folks know you’re a reader! Thanks!
