Today was one of those days that just felt made for sleeping in-and not just because we’re still recovering from the big kid’s slumber party. Well, mostly because of that, actually……Note to self: Never again!
It’s hard to believe there was a time I voluntarily stayed up past
What’s up this week? There are some really special library events in Lakewood and Puyallup (read on for more about those), a Westfield Family Fun Day for SouthCenter area readers, a free day at the zoo for Tacoma residents, free Friday night at the Hands-on Children’s Museum, (You can still get this Great Groupon to the HOCM to use anytime!) and much more! You’ll want to read to the bottom of the post for the scoop on a FREE play opportunity at Xtreme Bounce of Fun next week.
The Lakewood library event I mentioned is for fans of the Magic Tree House Series. These are especially good books if you have a primary age child who reads above her grade level. They’re historical fiction chapter books, and none of the content is too scary or sophisticated. Tuesday, kids can drop in for crafts, treats, and a celebration of all things Magic Tree House from 3:30-5 at the Parkland/Spanaway Library.
The Puyallup event is the first of a series of Tuesday events for kids in grades 3-6. Each features a fun theme around the books of popular, local children’s author,Suzanne Selfors.
Kids can learn about animal tracks, make an origami Lochness Monster, and more! They don’t have to have read them to attend any of the events, and any kiddo who attends 3 or more will get a free, signed book. These run 3:45-4:45.
Next week, on March 10th, kiddos in the preschool and tot set can play for Free with our friends at Xtreme Bounce of Fun at the Auburn Outlet Collection (aka the SuperMall). This fun, indoor play place is perfect for the little ones. The free, 30 minute play session is a special Connect!kids event, and you do have to register. Go here for all the details and how to do that. For more scoop on other weekday family fun, check out the calendar.
Here at the site, there will be plenty of fun posts you won’t want to miss, and as always, you’ll find spots to keep the kids warm and dry under the, “Rainy Day Play,” tab up top. I hope you’ll come back every day, sign up for my emails, and otherwise keep me company. I do appreciate it!
Disclosure: Amazon and Groupon links in this post are my affiliates. Any Amazon purchase you make that starts at this site benefits Sounds Fun Mom (remember me when you’re purchasing that year’s supply of toilet paper, won’t you?), and I also receive a small commission from your Groupon purchase. You can find all the books I mentioned at your library, if you don’t want to buy them. As always, I never want you to get in on any deal or make any purchase, that isn’t a good one for you!
