Kids’ Club at Michael’s stores. It’s an upcycled earth day craft.  2.00 per child sessions on the half hour from 10AM-11:30; you’re invited to shop while they craft.

Earth Day/Parks Appreciation Day. Just about every park and wild space is having some kind of volunteer event this weekend. You can go here for a list with contacts or just try calling your local parks department if you’re interested.

Water Weekends with HCC Mast at Redondo Every Saturday visit the center for free and get up close with sea critters in their touch tanks

The Spring Fair continues in Puyallup You can See my post for tips and tricks!

Mask Making Event at the Puyallup Public Library  Kids 6 and up are invited to join author Yuyi Morales to make masks in the style of Senor Calavera. You’re asked to call the library to register in advance for this free event. Ms. Morales will also be on hand later in the day for the free, community celebration at the library if this one is full or doesn’t work for you.

Lego My Library at the Puyallup Public Library 11AM Story time with Lego building

Day of the Children/El Dia De Los Ninos at the Puyallup Public Library 1:30-4  Free, drop in celebration of culture and books. Children’s author appearance, mariachi band, community groups. All children will receive one, free bilingual book.

Tacoma/ Greater Pierce County

The Junior Daffodil Parade in the Proctor neighborhood of Tacoma

Earth Day Extravaganza at the Tacoma Nature Center  Drop in, family activity to learn about bees, worms, and other critters that help keep the Earth healthy. If you haven’t been, be sure to check out the playground and take a short hike around the lake. 12-4

Free Showing of Despicable Me at the Grand in Tacoma

April Pool’s Day at the Eastside Pool 1:30-4:30  Kids who participate in a water safety class will get free, open swim time

Family Nature Walks with Metro Parks It’s Wapato Park today. Free,guided walks with a naturalist. Recommended for ages 3 and up; not suitable for strollers. You are asked to sign up.

Earth Day at the Zoo Special activities included with admission. SFM Note: Zoo admission is Pricey. If you can swing it, we recommend investing in an annual pass, unless you can take advantage of monthly free days for City of Tacoma residents.

Pierce College Science Dome Shows Special shows for children every Saturday at 2PM in the amazing new dome theater at their Lakewood campus. Tickets just 3.00; adults free! Link also has info. on other public shows.

Migratory Madness at Northwest Trek  Special bird themed fun included with admission SFM Note: Admission to Trek is Steep. If you’d go even twice, consider investing in an annual pass (You can also add it on to an existing zoo membership).

Lacey Family Fish-in This event required pre-registration, so I’m hoping you saw my previous post. I would call before you try and go. I’d hate for you to get there and have your kiddos disappointed.

School Visitation/Living History Open House at Historic Fort Steilacoom

Norway Festival at the Thurston County Fairgrounds

American Girl Book and Craft Club at the Olympia Barnes and Noble 12 Simple sewing project for girls 8 and up. Bring an old tee or dress to make into doll clothes.

Create and Take Worshop for School Age Kids with Thurston County 4-H 8.00 It’s a felt pony. Events are held at the Thurston County Fairgrounds. Children do not need to be 4-H members, but you do need to register and pay fees in advance.

Saturday storytime at the Olympia Barnes and Noble  1PM

Treemendous Trees at the LOTT Wet Science CenterThe center is open 10-4 and always free, with special, themed activities on Saturdays. Link opens a large pdf. You can also check their Facebook page.
