You’ve come to the right place! Here’s my list of fun and affordable things to do with the kids in and around the South Sound this week!

Ongoing: Story time is back at  all area libraries! Every day this week, there are multiple events for all ages. Here is the link for Pierce County (change the date in the calendar on the left). Other Weekday Events and Fun

Monday

Valentines for Vets  Ongoing event at Tacoma Public Libraries. Kids can stop in and make valentines to be distributed to area veterans.

Play to Learn at the South Hill Library 1-3PM  free, drop in program for kids 6 and under and their caregivers.   group activities, songs, stories, and play. Similar program for babies up to 24 months in Orting at 10:30 today.

Tuesday

Weekly Car Seat Inspections at Mary Bridge  Link has info. on other dates/times

Sing Along with Caspar Babypants at the Covington Library  Can’t make this one? Catch the popular Kindie rocker this Saturday at the Lakewood branch.  Thanks, ThriftyNorthwestMom for the heads-up!

Read with a Dog at the Puyallup Public Library 3:30-4:30   Kids can drop in and practice their reading skills with a patient, canine listener

It’s 1.00 day at the Starplex in Federal Way! Tickets are just 2.00 other days. Small upcharge for 3D

Read to a Dog at the Graham or Summit Library  4-5 at Summit and 6:30-7:30 in Graham  Kids can practice their reading skills with a patient, canine listener

Fetch Club at the Tillicum Library  Science Club for kids based on the popular PBS series. 5-6 PM For kids in grades 3-5 at this location. No registration required.

Parenting Class with Candyce Bollinger at the HOCM in Olympia  Registration and fees required

Wednesday

Tot Time at Learning Sprout Toys in Tacoma

Play to Learn at the Parkland/Spanaway Library at 10:00  free, drop in program for kids 6 and under and their caregivers.   group activities, songs, stories, and play.

Ukulele Jam Session at Ted Brown Music in Tacoma

Thursday

Critter Club at the Pt.Defiance Zoo Animal themed crafts, stories, and special visitors for 3 and 4 year olds. 8.00 members/ 10.00 non members. Fee does not include zoo admission. Preregister to hold your spot. 11AM  Also on Friday  It’s Bear Power this week.

Toddler and preschool story times at the Puyallup Public Library

Nature Alphabet at the Tacoma Nature Center  Nature themed preschool story time. Registration and fees required

    I’m not sure where (if it’s even possible) to submit information about upcoming events…but the “Not-Its” (Seattle kids band) will be playing on Saturday for FREE at Charles Wright Academy in University Place. It’s a short set – 11 to 11:45 but will be a great way to get some wiggles out!
