Looking for South Sound family fun? Kids’ activities in Tacoma, Puyallup, Gig Harbor, or your neck of the woods?

You’ve come to the right place! Here’s my list of fun and affordable things to do with the kids in and around the South Sound this week!

Ongoing: Story time is back at  all area libraries! Every day this week, there are multiple events for all ages. Here is the link for Pierce County (change the date in the calendar on the left). Here is the link for the Tacoma Public Library (change the date in the calendar on the left). If you’re one of my Thurston County readers, here is the link to Timberland regional library. Use the calendar to the left to look for kids’ story times. Here is the link for my Kitsap readers, and here is the link to the King County Library System (You can search by individual library).

The reindeer are in at Watson’s nursery in Puyallup Santa during most hours, too.

Monday

Rain got you down? I have lists of bounce house places, indoor playgrounds, and malls with soft play sections. Make a play date and grab a little pumpkin latte, why don’t you? Did you know Pump it Up in Tacoma has re-opened? It’s true!

Play to Learn at the South Hill Library 1:30-3 Special play and story times for children 6 and under and their grown-ups. Offered different days/times around the community and at the CMOT.

Tuesday

It’s 1.00 day at the Starplex in Federal Way  Tickets are just 2.00 other days. Brave, Finding Nemo, Timothy Green, and Ice Age are your kid friendly options (Small upcharge if you choose the 3-D version).
How the Grinch Stole Christmas Performance in Key Peninsula- Key Pen Parks in partnership with Two Waters Arts Alliance  At the Civic Center at 2PM Readers’ Theater production by area home schoolers free admission
Science club for tweens and teens based on the popular PBS series  No registration required at this location
 Wednesday

Car seat inspections at Good Sam Children’s Therapy Unit

Play to Learn Special story and play time for kids 6 and under and their grown-ups Offered different days/times around the community and at the CMOT.Parkland/Spanaway at 10:00 or Graham at 1:30 today

Story Time at the Seymour Conservatory in Wright Park 11AM Nature themed stories, art, and science concepts in the beautiful (warm!) surroundings of the conservatory

Music and Movement at the Gig Harbor Library at 10:30  Children birth-5 are invited for a special session of music, songs, and play

Lego Builder’s Club at the Lakewood Library  Kids can drop in and do some Lego! 1PM

Wacky Wednesdays at the South Hill Library 2-4PM  Drop in programs for school age kids  It’s a movie today.

Story time with Santa at Westfield/Southcenter 6PM  Ongoing, weekly story time with Santa at the Macy’s Court  New location near Wet Seal

Thursday

Play to Learn Special story and play time for kids 6 and under and their grown-ups Offered different days/times around the community and at the CMOT Lakewood at 10

Read with a dog at the Puyallup Public Library  Drop in and practice your reading skills with a patient, canine listener 3:30

Friday

Music and Movement at the Gig Harbor Library at 10:30  Children birth-5 are invited for a special session of music, songs, and play

Nature Alphabet at the Center at Noproint or Nature Numbers at the STAR Center in South Tacoma  Special, nature themed story and math times for preschoolers. Registration and fees required.

Read with a dog at the Puyallup Public Library  Drop in and practice your reading skills with a patient, canine listener 3:30
