Here it is….a great big list of weekend fun for kids in Puyallup, Tacoma, Gig Harbor, Olympia, Sumner, Fife, and Your area of the South Puget Sound!

Lowes Build and Grow Advance registration required for these popular, free programs. It’s a Madagascar themed plane today. Through the summer, these will also be offered on Sundays.

Water Weekends at HCC Mast at Redondo Every Saturday you can get up close with critters in the touch tanks and learn about sea life. Today, from 11-1 you can attend the Octopus Graduation Party Free

Free admission to national and state parks today for Get Outdoors Day.

It’s Washington State free fishing weekend. No license required to fish or collect shellfish in open waters. There are also boat rental and gear specials at the Pt. Defiance Marina. Just be aware of road closures Saturday due to the race. Also on Sunday

Bonney Lake Fantasy Fair Two days of magic with knights, fairies, and more!

It’s a 2nd Saturday, which means Free, Family activities at most libraries in the PCL system. I see a Geek Dad event in Lakewood, Building in UP, kite making in Tillicum, Kids’ gardening in Summit and more….Link will go to the complete list for today.

Family Games at the Wheelock Library in Tacoma 2  Sign up for summer reading while you’re there!

Family Day at the Museum of Glass Special family activities included with admission. Regular admission is spendy for adults; try to score a pass from your library. 1-4

Crafts from the Past at Ft.Nisqually  Each weekend, a different 19th century craft will be demonstrated. Included with regular admission. Fort opens later today due to Sound to Narrows

Life on a Colonial Lavender farm The Blue Willow Lavender farm on the Key Peninsula welcomes visitors every Saturday through August with costumed actors recreating life on a colonial lavender farm. Free admission; variety of lavender goodies available for purchase.

Junk in Your Trunk sale at Volunteer Park on the Key Peninsula

Kids’ Fest at Cabela’s in Lacey Free boating safety information and other hands-on activities. 11:30AM-4:30

Whales in our Midst exhibit opens at the State Capital Museum in Olympia Exhibit on Orcas in the Puget Sound begins with a reception and family activities at 1PM

Visit the LOTT WET Center in Olympia Every Saturday the center is open with free, science and environmental education activities Kids 10 and up can tour the water treatment plant at 1PM today (Wear closed toe shoes). Younger kids can enjoy activities at the center.

Parent’s Night Out at the HOCM in Olympia Advance registration required. Never been? Get half-off the price as a first timer.
