I have exciting news for your young music fans from Amber at Discovery Village.
If you missed my earlier post, Discovery Village is a new kids’ museum/play facility in Gig Harbor, and I have kind of a mad, crazy crush on the place.
This weekend, Discovery Village is hosting kindie rocker, Johnny Keener (scroll down to his Family Rock section to play some of his children’s songs). Keener is one of a handful of singers who performs music that kids And adults enjoy. He is based in Portland, where he regularly sells out shows at the Portland Children’s Museum. This weekend’s performances are included with admission, which is 8.50 for the first child and 6.00 for siblings. Adults and parking are always free.
Shows are at 10:30 and 1:00 Saturday, and Amber says you can just show up. The tumbling room holds about 20, so I think you might want to go early, although she also says they’ll add another concert if they run out of room.
For more kid friendly tunes, that won’t make you want to run screaming Edward Munch style, you might want to check out Caspar Babypants. Chris Ballew and crew will be playing at the Grand Opening of the new Multicare facility in Puyallup on February 13th (don’t worry, I’ll remind you).
If you make it to Discovery Village be sure to tell the friendly gals there I sent you. Hope you’re having a rockin’ little day wherever you are!
