I’ve got a whole list of fun activities just two posts down (if you have a little girl who likes to dress up you’ll want to read about area father/daughter dances), but I want to make sure you hear about This week’s Big News from The Children’s Museum of Tacoma (thanks to The Coupon Project for the scoop). If you missed the announcement this weekend, the museum is going to be free for 5 years when the new facility opens next year. But….you don’t have to wait until then to score a deal. In celebration of its 25th birthday, the museum is offering .25 cent admission on the 25th of every month-starting Tuesday. Special activities like face painting are included. Now, as I’ve mentioned many times, you can also go to the museum any time for free by getting a Play Pass from your library, but these are sometimes checked out. You can also go for free on the first Friday of the month, but I’ve found these days to be very popular, so twenty-five cents sounds like a deal to me! The only downside is that parking in Tacoma is going to cost you. We usually just park in the lot right by the museum and pay a few bucks. If that doesn’t sound like the ticket to you, you might enjoy reading about upcoming daddy and daughter dances, or head to my weekly What Sounds Fun This Week post.
If you’re new here via ThriftyNWMom, I write about activities just for the South Puget Sound. While I’m not a bargain blogger, you’ll find lots of thrifty fun here because I’m a big believer that family outings don’t have to mean draining the bank account or driving an hour. I hope you’ll make this site a regular stop! You might also enjoy joining other area parents over at the Sounds Fun Mom Facebook page.
